Our story
We picked four brands the market was about to catch up to.
When Midbay Motors evaluated which brands to franchise for the KwaZulu-Natal region, the legacy options were already saturated and expensive. The buyer demand we were seeing — younger families wanting modern SUVs at honest prices, and farmers and tradespeople wanting workhorses without paying European money — wasn't being met by the entrenched brands.
We chose BAIC, Changan, JAC, and Foton because each delivers on a specific job our customers were asking for. BAIC for SA-built family SUVs with government-grade trust. Changan for premium feel at honest prices. JAC for workhorse bakkies with commercial DNA. Foton for fleet-grade hauling at fleet-grade cost. Four brands, one dealership, one team that knows them all.
Eighteen months in, we've been right about the demand. The market has moved decisively toward these brands, and our role is to be the most honest, technically competent point of contact for KZN buyers and businesses who are ready to make the switch.
